Nope. It's not being renewed. New series called Stargate Atlantis will replace it with all new cast. O'Neill is in the first episode but other than that no other guest roles have been reprised so far...

'Stargate' Gets Renewal, Spinoff

The Sci Fi Channel has renewed its top-rated series, "Stargate SG-1," for next season, which will make it one of the longest-running science-fiction series ever on American television.

The eighth season of "Stargate," scheduled to launch in summer 2004, will also set up a spinoff series, currently titled "Stargate: Atlantis." The new show will feature a different cast playing a team that tries to discover the Stargate's origins.

" 'Stargate SG-1' is one of Sci Fi's sure-fire hits," says Bonnie Hammer, president of the cable network. "It's got one of the best ensemble casts on television and one of the best production teams as well. ... We look forward to even bigger and better things with season 8."

Since Sci Fi began airing the series in its sixth season -- the first five ran on Showtime -- it's been the channel's highest-rated original series. New episodes average just over 2 million viewers, and repeats of older episodes, which run in a block on Monday nights, draw about 1.3 million people.

The core cast of "Stargate" -- Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge -- will be back for Season 8.

well, when 9pm arrived, i was completely covered in my own drool :whistle

that episode was fooking excellent

Anyone that has even a mild interest in SG1 should either watch the repeat on saturday, or BT it

May even go as far to say it was the best ever episode I've seen :nowords:

I'd like to see how they revive O'Neill as Richard Dean Anderson is going to star in a few episodes in the new season.

mmmm...

strange how the ancient knowledge didn;t mess him up as much as before..

IMO he had enough of Jack left to figure out to put himself into that thing to suspend himself untill the others can figure out how to remove the ancient from him.

I wondered why those gold things didn't attack braytak(sp) or teal'c....mind you, neither of them have symbiotes anymore.

Also Anubis was half ascended acient so the creatures would have affected him.

MGM has announced that Stargate SG-1 is set to begin Season Eight on July 9th on the Sci-Fi Channel! The new Stargate Atlantis series begins the following Friday, July 16th with a two hour premiere episode. Both SG-1 and Atlantis will run for 20 episodes in the coming season, instead of the 22 that previous seasons have had.
