help ford 2006

I just had to have a new battery in my Ford escort and I am trying to get the 2006 radio to work again.

I thought I had remembered the code and entered it in a couple times, and it did not work. There is no flashing display and pressing numbers gets no response.

Have I locked it?
Is there anything I can do to unlock it and reach the point where I can enter the code?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
