I have £300 and am looking to buy a 17" TFT monitor. I want to be able to play games and watch movies etc so lag is something I want to avoid.
If anyone has a good monitor let me know how it performs.
Cheers
Hi,
Got an AOC 17" TFT monitor here, and am well pleased with it. The screen response time is fine for movies and games, and is very vibrant. My only complaint is that it connects via the older analogue connector rather than the newer digital type which seem to suffer less from interference, but that is a fault of all analogue connecting TFT's.
Just flicking about now, I believe the newer model to mine is the 17" AOC LM720 Multimedia TFT which apparently has the digital and analogue in, all for £292.58 + postage. Seems spot on to me...
Crossman.
I have the 17" AOC LM720 and have had no probs with it, it does not have a DVI in tho. Was looking for another as my G/F wants a new monitor so I was gonna pass this un onto her and get a Hyundai ImageQuest Q17 17" TFT these have got good reviews and a better response time, about £350 tho. Goto toms hardware guide for reviews of tft's, some good info on there...Originally Posted by Crossman

I've just bought a LG1710b from Technoworld.com for £ 312.97 delivered and I'm really happy with it. Performance is realy good, in fact It sounds very similar to vgopal's but it has dvi.DVI is a new form of video interface technology made to
maximize the quality of flat panel LCD monitors and high-
end video graphics cards. It is a replacement for the P&D
Plug & Display standard, and a step up from the digital-only
DFP format for older flat panels. DVI is becoming increasingly
popular with video card manufacturers, and most cards
purchased include both a VGA and a DVI output port.
