    Default External Hard Drive Help

Right, ive got a 120GB Western Digital External Hard Drive.

I had about 60GB on there. Everything was fine until I formated my laptop. I plugged it back it and all I got was a "Windows" dir.

I also just plugged it into abother pc where it was working fine before and i get the same.

Does anyone know why this is?

Please dont say its had it, ive had it for about a month. Its got about 70 albums on there

Default Re: External Hard Drive Help

    man that sounds odd as.

there is no good reason for there to be a windows DIR.
the only time a windows dir is created (in most cases) is when installing a new windows OS.

given that you formated something and reinstalled a new OS (i presume)
and now your external hd is blank except for a windows dir.

you know what im going to suggest has happened dont you ?
you may not like it...but it whould seem the case.

that post contains some referances to software for retriving deleated data.
not sure on how good/bad that type of software is.
but it whould seem like your best bet to get back yer tunes.
