    Default Old Laptop Problem

Hi, Ive been given a Toshiba portege 660 laptop with a CDRom drive BUT NO floopy drive unit. The hard drive has been wiped and the bios does not allow boot up from CD... Is there a way of booting from CD or getting win95 back on here apart from taking the hard drive out and finding a similar laptop

    Cheers

Only way i can think is to take out the hard drive and connect it to a normal pc with using a IDE convertor and then putting the system files on with CD-Drivers. You should be able to boot it then back in the laptop and install the O/S from CD

You can get external floppy drives for them off Ebay for £20ish.

i got both converters, easiest way would prob be to get the converter install on your main pc then plonk it into the laptop, it will then install your laptop drivers when it reboots, i had a similar problem with my old laptop. pity your not nearer could have borrowed mine
