Yeh, another one... Surprisingly, I can't believe how many of these you can find... Anyway, let's get to the problem:
Problem Description: Ford's audio box, as you already know, says "2006R" on the front panel.
Detailed Description: when powered on, the display proudly shines "TEN". In green. Wow.
Addendum (more like addendoom):
Please note this one has been hanging around our house for ages and since I finally bought myself a car, I have some plans with it. So yesterday I powered it up and the thing counted from 30 minutes downwards. Sure, after finished, the radio did not blew up, but asked for a code. And I bluntly provided one. Wrong one, of course. And guess what - hehe, I was the fortunate person to accomplish this foolish task for the tenth time: the unit locked itself up! Crap!
Time to panic:
For crying out loud, is there any cheap and civilized (soldering, desoldering ICs) way to unlock this beast, or is it time to run to more conventional methods -- putting the unit into a freezer for a while might erase mem - or so I have been told. However, I will only try this after couple of days, and if no one comes up with a better idea.
I am also politely asking someone to provide me with the unlock code for it in case I miraculously succeed to get it working (asking for it, the code, *******) again. The info on unit is:
Model no.: Ford 2006R, Made in Portugal
Serial no.: M069692
Part no.: 94FP-18K876-GA
Processor: Texas Instruments N760050BFKC004
EEPROM (I believe): National Semiconductor (48AF)71005TB, 8-pin
That's it. Thank you very much!
