Default Being locked ou of my car

    HI ,

Got a stupid , annoying and very silly problem. I cannot get into my own car anymore !!

Basically , I cannot open my Vauxhall Vectra without either the Key or remote locking key. It simply will not open.

I have had this in the past , and then I had to smash a window to get in and sort the problem. It turned out that the lock had reset it self.

Is there anybody who can advise how to get into my car without smashing the window again ?

    thanks a ;lot !!

This may or may not work but worth a try.
The remote has a rolling code and can lose its synchronisation with the code stored in the car. Press the remote about 20 times when near the car and see if you can get it back in sync.

Alternatively phone the AA or RAC. They may be able to help unlock your door. If you are not a member, get someone who is.

or buy a slimjim and then stick it down the space between the window and the metal and pull it and it'll undo the lock

That how U get into alots of motors. but sometimes the plastic window guide inside the door breaks or the glass shatters - hence winding car windows upwards can become uneven. you got away with it :thumbs

The easiest way is to get one of them springy grabber type things (the ones where you press the top and some little claws come out of the bottom), spread the top of the door out with a screwdriver (protecting the paint with filler cards). Then push the springy thing down the gap while guiding it with an old wire coat hanger, grab the button, pull up and your sorted.

    Allegedly :whistle

i was under the impression slim jims dont work nemore because car manufactures cover the locking mechanism with a metal box. is this true?

Most use a plastic shield, quite a few are easily bypassed though.
I'ts not about hitting the lock mechanism though, its about reversing the locking process using simple tools.

I was very surprised at how easy my old Corsa was broken into. When I replaced the locks/door handles, I was furious at how simple the locking mechanisms were on the Corsas. (I won't go into details, you never know what shady characters are reading these forums, but all you need is a screw driver and the knowledge of where to put it!)

If the deadlockings on you need to earth one of the wires that goes into the door via the removal the front wing undershield to get to the plug.
