help needed please

can anyone help my son has accepted a download and it has changed my home page and search settings, it also appears when i do a search using something else my internet freezes up. I tried changing it back but it keeps changing back pulling my hair out now any help appreciated cheers in advance

My son had this also and Spybot search and destroy sorted it out
its a free download all over the net

I have found that some of the hijacks cannot be removed by the usual software and you have to use other software to do it or remove them manually a right pita

thanx a lot for your time guys i have followed the advice and it has not got rid of it it also keeps trying to get me to download a dialer really doin me head in now , anyone know how to do it manually soz for being a pain but new to this thanks in advance

my old man had a similar problem and searched though his registry with regedit and got rid of it....

aint got a clue why it happened altho internet explorer started payingu bg time so he reformatted and started again!!

cheers lads, Adaware and spybot piss me off, surely they should be able to get rid of some of this stuff that a lot of people have?!? Hijackthis did the job for me (I used BHO as well). Oh my problem was a 'searchnow2.com' default start up and tool bars etc. It was summat like searchnow2.com.
