Saw this last night, the trailers looked really good, did anyone else think the film was absolute shite!, I mean hellboy was just some geezer painted letter box red with a big right hand, obviously through too much wangkin' :nowords: , he comes out with these one line cliches all the time while smoking a fat cigar, kinda resembles arnie schwarznegger(s.p) but not as cool. dissapointed. :grr:

I gotta disagree totally m8, I loved it. The movie is very much tongue in cheek and while it steals a lot from other films of the same ilk its done well and has some great action sequences.

For a bit of escapism for 90 minutes I thought it was ideal.

I happen to quite like Guillermo del Toro style, thought he did a great job on Blade 2. Might have to see this for myself when it comes out here, as I have read a few mixed reviews. Hellboy though, got a total of 77% on www.rottentomatoes.com. While Pirates of the Caribbean got 79%, and I thought Pirates was one of the top movies of 2003!

ahhh downloaded yesterday and ummm... pure shite a cross between men in black and x men with a bad story line :/ but oh well I did watch it at 6am and i hadnt slept in like 15+ hours so may watch it again when I have had a nice longggg sleep

Pirates of the Caribbean was tops, really enjoyed it, blade 2 was good also, but hellboy just missed a whole wad of storyline.....politely put, "it's fukkkin boring".

Been reading the comics for a while now, and i have to say, that it was pretty faithful.
Some minor plot changes but on the whole very enjoyable!!

Oh! and i got the 18 inch hellboy figure, for my birthday last week, which is blinding!!!Hahahah

I actually enojoyed it. Havent never read the comics it actually covered the the storyline in so much as you didnt loose track of the plot.

Certainly took alot from Blade and X-men but worth watching. I dont think that it will do that well commercially but I liked the 1 liners.

I didn't really know what to expect, cos i've never read the comics or know any of the story line, but i must say i really enjoyed it.

Like CJ said, it was 90 mins of escapeism - if anyone went in expecting anything else they were probably disappointed.
