wouldnt it be easier just to buy an RS Turbo
Its a nightmare of a job m8.
For starters: the wiring, the fuel tank, the exhaust, the engine mountings, the driveshafts and the gearbox need changing, plus loads of other stuff.
Just get an rs turbo its easier and cheaper.

im only 17 and aint loaded what do u reckon it would cost to insure a 1.4 fiesta or 1.4 astra.thanx
Probably between £500 and £1k.
As GhettoMoose says, if you dont declare the modifications to the insurance company, you may as well not have insurance. If you do declare them, I doubt you will find many places that will insure you, of course it is possible but not for a reasonable amount of money.
I have two point to argu now....I have been told by two different people that adding an Induction Kit / Air Filter to your engine will increase your premium. Now one guy I know added one and told his Insurance and they said fine no problem - No change as they say it doesn't add power. yet they are clearly advertised as being able to add a few extra BHP. I was also told by a friend Maccy ( Mac Can Nic ) that these kits only give you more power if you car is already raced tuned, and makes no difference to the engine power when fitted to a standard car....Anyone have any views on this?
The next point is the exact same with Exhaust systems, apparntly you can have a huga tail pipe which adds no difference to power, unless you touch the catalic converter, is this also true? Cheers

revs - dont be a goon by trying to fiddle ur insurance, it ent worth it. do wot most young drivers do - put up with a shit car and build up ur no claims till u can afford to insure urself properly on something fast

some inductions kits probably only give a slight gain, others can give more of a gain. I have an enclosed kit that has a cold air feed connected to the grill. This means that more cold air is forced into the feed and into the engine and as it is enclosed the air doesnt get warmed by the heat from the engine. I felt the difference over the standard filter.Originally Posted by GhettoMoose
With exhausts, not sure if they will all give a gain, maybe they are smoother inside than standard exhausts. Removing the CAT should give more of a gain because it is removeing a restriction in the pipe. By using a HUGE pipe you are likely to loose power as you will be reducing back preasure.
Most of these products will give some gain so should be declared, even if they dont.
