you need a little blue remote fob to deactivate the code there isnt a number code to input as such, phone the guy up and ask him if hes forgotten to give you the fob

either that or its read the chip time 24c01. i think that there are only about 5 bits to change to remove the code as i has to do it aswell to my kenwood 777r

on the 777 you had to change these mem locations in the 24c01 hex

    0x1F 01
    0x20 5A
    0x21 A5
    0x54 09
    0x55 01
    0x5E 5A
    0x5F A5

yep you can remove the code all together if your good at soldering take the 24c ic out (ic12 on the board i think) and put a blank one in which can be bought from maplins or cpc etc, and this will remove the code function the ic's where only just over £1 from kenwood themselves but you need a spares account to order one, i can give you the part no for the ic from kenwood if you need it
    hope this helps

Yes there IS another way, I build devices to decode ALL sorts of radios and the latest invention happens to be a keyfob which will erase the existing keyfob from the unit WITHOUT dis-assembling the unit.
Also we will be able to supply a replacement keyfob, Unfortunately not Original but another one of my inventions.

This Will work 1000% with ALL Kenwood D-Mask units that have a KeyFob Protection System.

If ANY of you are interested then let me know.
    Mail me phil@infinateweb.co.uk

Pictures will soon be on our website www.decode.me.uk

Sorry about the Sales Pitch, but i thought this was relevant since we are the ONLY people that can provide this at the moment.

More info (at bottom of page) here:

    http://www.rampantapathy.co.uk/carradio.html

If any mod taked offence at what is a blatant advert then I apologise. Just that as far as we know we are the only people on the planet (other than Kenwood) to have this method od decoding Mask Units sorted!
