Nokia 3310 help please

I have a Nokia 3310 and for no reason the thing has no ring tone if someone rings me it comes up saying incoming call but no tone the vibrate is on and that is working but no tone i have looked at all the usuall things like ring tone vol ,incoming call alert its on ringing
any help would be great

Hi Mate, do you get a message tone when receiving a text message and secondly when you change your ringtone can you hear it? In other words do you only loss sound when receiving a call?

There are 3 possible causes, these are;

1/ The actual ringer needs replacing.
2/ It has been water damaged.
3/ Possibly a software fault.

All 3 can be repaired easily. If it has been water damaged I suggest you take it to a good fone shop and get it put in an ultra-sonic bath. The sooner the better.

If it is a software fault then it will need re-flashing. Most good fone shops should be able to do this for you.

If it is only the ringer then this can easily be replaced by you. You would need a T6 screwdriver (about £3) and a new ringer (about £5)

Undo the 6 screws that hold the screen, take the screen out along with the main board. You will then see the main components. Replace the ringer, put the board back, then the screen/screws.

Thanx for the replies i do not get a tone when receving mesages or when i change tones i have tones when pressing my keys i dont think its water damage so sonds like it maybe the ringer or software

Changed the ringer today and it works a treat now thanx to all who helped
