Has Ntl speeded up every1`s connection already as i`m getting just under 200kbs at the minute dling from DC+
Oh yea i`m on 1mb.

Maybe they were testing or something coz my speed just dropped in half!

NTL have no plans to implement the speed increase until after the summer (although they have no qaulms about increasing the cost at the beginning of summer).

As for speed monitoring, I would install a dedicated bandwidth monitor rather than rely on what 3rd party software or Windows itself reports.

Durr, yes, but this is discussing NTL not Telewest, so not really relevant. :tongue

I didn`t want to say anything because like pegasus said it could be an error in the way windows read the bandwidwith. But for about 1 hour yesterday i was getting 1mbs.
And i was dling a xbox title, and it burnt and played o.k!
It was cruel is it gave me a taste of something i can`t have!

i too have ntl and i have read about the free upgrade they are rolling out. Can anyone please tell me how i can test my speed for myself as im currently on 600k

549.2 kilobits per second....does that sound right then for a 600k connection. Is there some loss anyway?

Looks about right considering the site is in the US

549 is about as good as it is gonna get on a 600k connection.

There will always be some "loss" due to TCP/IP overheads, cabling, etc.

SUPPOSED to be june 1st...........................but never know withthis lot probably get delayed i hope now, i mean i am on the smaller connection of 150 thats gonna get doubled to i will be happy with that but i hope they do go according to plan

if the 600k is going up to 750k - is the 1mb going up to 1.25mb ?

Im an NTL customer on a 1mb line and i havent had any letter from them saying my service is increasing?
