    Default Port Forwarding problem

Got a linksys router and i have just gotten into torrents, so had to set up port forwarding, so set up 6881 - 6889 for the laptop, i set the same for the main machine but i get the "nat error" message when testing the ports (test is fine on the laptop), i am told i need to set "trigger port forwarding" to allow more than 1 machine to access the ports and that my router may not have this option and as such i am supposed to return it to linksys, however it is out of warranty.
    So any ideas or advice
:kissass  Hmm I wonder which 3 this is ????

You will only be able to forward the ports to one computer - so pick a pc for torrents and point the ports for that mac address to it.

if you want torrents on multipul pc's it soulds like you need to upgrade the firmware of the router to allow for multiple nat port forwarding. look on linksys website for updates.

oE cheers for the reply, did the firmware upgrade twice over the weekend with no success, so does that mean i need a newer router.

in azureus you can alter the port it listens on. You could use different ports on each machine and forward the ports as needed.

TBH I'v never heard of a cheap router that can forward static ports to multiple clients.

It's really not that much effort mate, not worth getting a new one for. Just set another pc to use different ports and forward to them and your done.
