Yes it would aid your fat loss and help to prevent catabolism.
When you are asleep your body will burn a bit of muscle for the energy it needs, therefore a decent breakfast that has a decent level of protein in will stop this in the morning instead of say, not eating till lunch and then burning some muscle for energy for another 4hrs. It will also mean your body will get used to having a meal at this time and therefore will stop putting 'emergency fat' on just incase of an emergency when you are asleep.
Do not just go down the path of not eating to try and drop that little bit of weight, it will be counter productive.
