GP32 overclock mod

Hi,

I have just done this mod on mine and a friends GP32.

As you will know GP32's have a cpu that can be software overclocked. Some (about half) will go to 166MHz and above straight out of the factory.

Before the mod, the two that I have done would go all day long at 133MHz but would crash within minutes at 156MHz and above.

I did the mod and now both sit quite happily at 166MHz (doom v9 and gpengine used to test). This is now very important as more and more apps have options for 156MHz and above or they are hardcoded to go 156+ , like the new megadrive emu

The mod works by changing the cpu core voltage so that it is slightly increased but still within manufacturers tolerances.

Highly recommended that you do this if your gp32 doesnt go 166MHz already.

New megadrive emu is - gigadrive, it is really coming along nicely, no sounds or saves yet but showing real promise.

Hopefully this will spur some competition, and maybe a new release of ryleh's fgen

Will it ever be 100%? If the gp32 can ever do megadrive snes or gba 100% I might get it out the attic and dust it off.

been playing on gigadrive on the train this morning. it's looking good and as kjun said it may push ryleh on with fgen.

theres supposedly a private beta of fgen released last night which has sound and runs at a similar rate to gigadrive (with the sound off) so things are moving on
