Default Windows XP Home Activation ?

I am an MSDN Universal Subscriber which gives me access to MSDN Subscriber Downloads. This includes all the M$ operating systems. As I sometimes work from home, I installed the Windows XP Home CD download on my machine.

However, I was away for a week (which happened to be my last week before XP needed activating) and now I just get a message saying XP now must be activated.

I have a wireless internet connection which doesnt seem to work when activating so I tried phoning. The activation line was fine, I got through to someone to speak to but they told me that unlike normal activation, I need to speak to the MSDN team. Fine, they gave me the number but their hours are different (8am to 8pm).

Problem is that I am not at home during these hours during the week and there is some important data on that machine that I need before the weekend.

Is there any way I can fool the activation (at least until the weekend) and let me log in to the machine ? Or some way of getting the data off it without having to remove the hard drive and install it on another machine (really dont want to have to do this) ?

Stick XP pro on, register with Devils key [no avtivation required] then change the XP key. You can then do updates etc.

This app is OK here as it doesn't provide anything illegal, it only allows you change your key which if you own more than one copy of Xp is fine
