Have I been stuffed by AMD?

Just took delivery of an Athlon 64 3200 cpu. For ease of installation I got the Processor in a box retail pack so I would have everythin in it.

Started to read the instructions, and found that it needs a retention clip and back plate - which is nowhere in the retail box!!!

Since ebuyer "had a little problem" with my order - I won't get my mobo til mid week !

Will the asus board come with the retention clip - or will the expect AMD to ship it with thier fookin cpu???

yep they come with the motherboard.. although when I got my 64 3200+ it did give me a clip bit with it but ya its alreayd on the motherboard

Right - the mobo should be with me by 9am this morning - so it will be the first thing I check!

Fusen - I assume you got the AMD "PIB" with all the bits too, which is the number to write into the warranty card space???

I got one with my processor and one with the mobo. Should come inside the retail pack, contact ebuyer if not with the mobo.
Piece of advice when u peel the paper off the back plate make sure you leave the rubber layer attached to the back plate ( I took them both off and shorted my mobo DOH!) good luck

I got one attached to the ASUS Board - man they like to make a nice package! - will always buy them - excellent boards!

All went together well too! - yeah - fast PC Now! :-)
