Default Any ideas for a good Digital Camera??

    Hi folks,
Any suggestions for a good digital camera for about £200-£250 would like something with a bit of zoom for those close up shots but other than that not an expert so any advice welcome.

    Cheers

Seems a good price mate, heres an excellent site for reviews called Steve's Digicams http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/z2.html really worthwhile reading.

Looks a little bulky and cumbersom for me personally, would want something to 'point and click' with all the goodies that you get with a digicam (i.e. review piccies etc)

Depends what you are after - that camera isn't the most compact you'll find, but does have a great zoom, I've got a Canon A80 which gives full manual controls in a smallish camera but only goes to 3x optical zoom.

Still with 7dayshop, for £139, THIS looks a bit of a bargain to me, just from the spec.

Me, I'm still using my £100 Kodak from the Kodak cockup of a year or two ago.

Go for the Canon powershot s50 it's been reduced from £350(I bought mine for £450 about 6mths ago)to £250 and I don't think you'll find a better 5m pixel camera which you can set to auto and point and click for truly amazing result's.

I've got the Nikon Coolpix 3100 which is a great camera.

Very Compact with 3x optical zoom and 3.2 megapixles. It has loads of easy to use options for taking different pictures. i.e sunsets, partys, landscapes.

Coupled with a 128MB card and the camera set at 2 megapixles (good enough for standard photo's) i fit 180 pics on the card.

Only down side to this camera is you don't get a mains charger. You get a external battery charger with the camera and 1 set of rechargeable batterys. So it's best to buy another set of batterys so you've always got some juice.

Be careful with 7dayshop as its located in Guernsey and so tax free, but you will have to pay the tax on delivery, approx 17.5 % on any items over £25
