    Default SD and XD cards

Just following on from the link smaur posted. The Fukipix uses XD cards.

So what is the difference between SD and XD?

This is an SD (Secure Digital) card:

This is an XD (XD-Picture Card) card:

SD cards are used more widely in the cheaper range of cameras and they are used in some mobiles phones like the N-Gage.

The XD card was created jointly but Fuji and Olympus.

Yup, although now it's pretty obvious just to re-iterate, despite the similar naming convention (SD / XD) these cards have nothing to do with one another.

The n-gage and most mobiles use mmc cards, the xd cards at max capability will be able to go upto 8Gb on one card, hence the video feature of some cameras would allow for much longer recording, fuji is now releasing cameras that have much better video resolution, when a 8Gb card is released you'll be able to record quiet a lot of video.
