    Only had the camera a week and a bit..

    Oh the spider was smaller than the tip of a cotton bud. The mesh its on is a fly screen with holes about 1-2mm wide...

    The zoom must be great on that camera to get the close up on the spider.

    When you're shooting close ups you really need a tripod or some other means of support too, as the slightest movement is magnified.

    Here's a pic of some unknown ugly bug............ger I found in the garden. You can see the focus is slightly out as the eyes are soft but the body is sharp, grrrr couldn't see that on the camera's screen.

    I don't know what it was, but it was about an inch long and looked dead but it wasn't.

    Me old girl took a strange dislike to it when I used it as the wallpaper on her pc.

    What camera was it taken with m8.

    If anyone is gonna post pics is there any chance you could put the name of your camera, how many pixels it is and how much it cost, coz its the first thing i wonder when i see pics and im sure others do to.

    It was taken with a Canon D30 3.2MP and a Sigma 105mm MACRO lens 1/10th sec at f11.

    Cost - you don't wanna know. I wish I didn't cause now it's not worth ¼ of what I paid a few years ago !! Ah well that's progress for you. :thumbs

    I've since upgraded to the 10D mainly because it's has much lower noise levels when doing very long exposures (5 mins +) and because I'm a complete gadget freak.

    @Spike2k1
    The bug itself was probably about half the size of your thumb, quite big, and it looked just as ugly in real life as is does in the pic.
