Canon ixus 400 max memory?

I have just bought a canon Ixus digital 400 camera, does anyone know the maximum memory this camera will support ,it takes compact flash memory

good question, i need a the answer to!

After google searchin the most i could find that someone said they had used was 512mb CF card..

Anyone agree with that?

Any CompactFlash Type I card can be used, but not Type II or Microdrive.

I think the largest at the moment is 1 GB but SanDisk are bringing out 2 and 4 GB cards.

The query is not what is the largest compact flash memory available but a case of what is the maximum memory the ixus 400 can actually handle,
I bought my camera from dixons that was closing down for �174, without charger, usb lead, or memory,
the charger cost me 35.00, Lead was free, and anoter 8.50 for 64mb c/flash, all in all cost me �217.00 i think i got a bargain, but you never know

I'll try again.

The Canon Ixus 400 uses CompactFlash Type I media. The largest CompactFlash Type I card available at the moment afaik is 1 GB. Therefore the Canon Ixus 400 can use a 1 GB memory card.

In the furture SanDisk are releasing CompactFlash Type I cards of 2 and 4 GB so in the future it will be able to use upto 4 GB.

Is that clearer.

Ok thanks mate, I will be shortly purchasing a 1GB module and wil let you know if it works ok. incase someone is interested - I wonder how many pics that will hold

1gb should hold around 1500 pictures. a 64 holds 100-150 depending which camera you have. ABCMan has a 1gb

On sale in walmart shops in the USA with a rebate money off memory cards up 4gig 24x speed for the canon powershot 450 same as our canon ixus400 so when we get the 4 gigs over here it should work

MMM lovely cant wait for the 4gb to come here, the ixus 400 is a cracking camera for me does all I ever want to.

Has anyone ever had compact flash memory cards die on them some shop owners say its better to buy 2 x 512mb instead of 1 x 1gb
