freezing

done a fresh install on harddrive re installed xp pro but pc keeps freezing when working on it or left standing cant ctrl - alt -delete to clear have to restart machine any ideas thanks

Try doing it again would be a quick suggestion. How about some more information? Like your reason for re-installing? Is it an original copy of xp? etc.

sorry about that formated because of the freezing couldnt seem to stop it running xp pro on a copy version have done the crack to get the updates done this on 2 other machines as well they are ok this one with the problem ios a a bit kg7 mother board 1900 xp processor 512 ram riva tnt graphic and sound blaster live sound card is this any help :splease

If Win XP was freezing before and after fresh install then it is most likely nothing to do with winxp at all. You have some sort of Hardware issues.

Here... Are the most likely problems....

a) Over heating CPU (check temp on Bios setup for 15 mins)
b) Errors on hard drive (run detailed scan disk)
c) Memory Errors (take out all memory - excpet one stick)
d) Someother IDE or card causing trouble (see belw)

Strip you computer to the bare esentials. Which are...

Motherboard
CPU
Graphics card
Power supply
Memory (just one stick)
Hard Drive

Remove every else (sound card, modem, lan, CD roms etc) and try XP again.
