Right click on the link and select "Save target as", browse to where you want to save it and click "Save".

problem with that is that it just saves the link and not the whole pdf file (which is currently 100 pages long) I want to be able to take pages and copy and paste them into word so i can make up a document of my own.

    Any suggestions

Have you tried krackens suggestion, I was looking at a PDF file on a web page and sure enough, it has a 'Save a Copy' button at top left of document.
