How easy is it to nick an Mk6 Escort and Mk1 Mondeo?

Well, just been watching this guy outside my house trying to nick the neighbours motorbike (which I have on tape if someone wants to see it). Im rather hoping he doesnt attempt to nick my car next to it, or my mothers.

So how easy would it be to nick my car? Everything is pretty much standard, no big yellow steering wheel locks or anything.

Should I be thinking about getting some extra anti-theft devices for it?

Did you not call the rozzers mate?

Most cars are pretty easy to knick I beleive. The most cost effective detterrant is the massive yellow steering lock. Looks shit, awkward to put on but pretty near indestructable!

Post up the vid as well mate

No, didnt bother calling the police as he didnt actually nick it. I find calling them pointless these days.

Will post the vid as soon as its encoded in about half an hour

    Here's the video...

Does anyone know what he's actually trying to do? It seems as if he is trying to unwind something. As you can see he tried to move it and then deicdes it's not such a good idea. Strange

Looks like he was trying to either cut or remove the steering lock, but its possible the guy had a disk lock on there as well which is why it only went back a couple of feet... who knows...

He's not very good is he!

Don't worry about your cars m8, the chipped key system will stop thieves stealing them.

The Escort steering lock is easy to break off, but the mondeo is a lot harder, but without the keys it won't start anyway.

As wtd says a disklock is the best deterrant, stops them even trying.
