how long until topuptv is hacked?

hi, just a quick question, just wondering if anyone has got a rough idea when topuptv will be hacked?
only asking because i am buying myself a freeview box for my bedroom but arn't sure if i should get a nokia ondigital box or a normal freeview box for about £50(no cam slot though )
only going to get the nokia one if topup will be hacked within a month or two.

also what kind of stuff would i need to get myself a chipped card?

it won't be soon, and the interest in hacking it isn't that great due to the number of extra channels you will get, it'll be cheaper to buy a subscription

sorry about that guys, i just read a post about topup being hacked and it sounded good to have in my room as a few extra channels, none of which i would really pay £8 a month for.
just going to get a normal sett top box.

i mean £8 a month, thats £96 a year.. some sp@z head will prob pay £150 (examples prices lol) for a hacked version and then have to get another at the end of the year...

Yep the channels are just the main packaged ones, only time shift versions and the cards are Mediaguad v7.6 so the newest version around. Unlooper is the only way in with 7.0 cards and these cost a bit more than your average card reader. The 7.3 cards used by CSN france are still yet to be made public.

I dissagree. For a saving of £8 a month there would be no market for hacked cards down the local market. For what they'd have to be sold for it wouldnt be worth the risk for the seller so the company would be fine. Meaning the only people benefiting would be readers of forums like this who, presumably, would never have otherwise became Top-Up TV customers anyway.

So if it could be easily hacked then lets see it. Don't hacker's usually claim it's for the challenge and not exploitation? Then the challenge has been set!

not for what they will benefit, but to proove that no matter what these bods invent, there is always someone who will get round it.

so maybe it will be hacked... but i much doubt it, otherwise we wuld have herd about it by now.

yeh exactly, its from them guys hacking it, that we get new things. just think, if people decided they culdnt be bothered to hack... then we wuld be living in backword technolagy. because nothing wuld be improved!

I was around and quite active at that time, but like yourself, rarely visit that section. I loved that time, I learned soo much from peeps on this forum, only glad I was able to pass my knowledge on to others :thumbs

oh, I left that sort of thing to the big boys, DASDL - MR SPORTY etc.. I learned alot about hex editing and multiplexing (which actually came up useful in a college course I did) ..providers and such. When I bought my equipment, I did so knowing that I might not even get one done, but thanks those peeps who rose to the challenge and certainly kept 1tv on their toes towards the end, I used available hex's and modified them to suit - just things like provider ID's and PBM (channels), MK01 on original cards, and oh.. it's all so overwhelming... lol - the good ol' days
