    Default Motherboard capacitors

    Got a Soltec SL-75DRV2 socket A motherboard.
Upon pc stripdown at the weekend i noticed the 6 or so capacitors around the processor have bulging tops and oozing electrolyte!
Ive cleaned it off and keeping a close eye on things and everything seems fine and no more electrolyte have come out!
Does this sound worrying? i dont care if the MB goes bang as it is old now and would make a good excuse to upgrade but am worried if it takes out anything like my New DVD writer, HD, or Graphics card.

    Regards.
    Simon.

had this problem at work and we fixed it. a few motherboards had swolen capacitors and just out of interest we changed them and it worked fine. if i were you i'd stop using the board straight away. either buy a new motherboard, or change the caps. they'll cost you £1 max from RS.

If you have the skill mate i'd go for just replacing the caps, cheapest and safest option. Oh i'd limit my use of the MOBO aswell
