i may be being a complete lamer here... but.. what TV channels can u actually watch with this??
it says 125 channels, but if u can only pick up the norm.. whats the point.. any one care to clarify? :nowords:
If you are on a cable connection, you can user a splitter and pipe a conection to your TV Tuner card.
Even if you dont have cable tv (just cable internet) it still carries the tv channels and your tv card will act as a decoder.
Should also give you freeview channels on a normal tv antennea
i think u can use these for video capture also (ie camcorder to dvd/vcd)
df rookie how certain are you that you will get more than the standard freeview channels from a cable feed ??
I have one of these babies, although a slightly different model. It's one with an FM radio built in... whoo hoo!
Anyway, I have found that the software it comes with is quite unstable, both for watching tv and trying to record it.
There is some software on SourceForge that some people may find more useable.
I can't comment on the cable decoding bit, as I don't have cable in my house.
Mine however only picks up standard TV, no freeview, through an aerial. Feeding from a cable stream may help you get more channels, but I can't see it...
Have to say though, more than double was paid for my one. So you can't go too wrong for the price.
u an get a happuage DVB (digital 1) for freeview un stuff
i have a wintv pci card thats like 5 years maybe more older can watch tv fine on it i use windows media encoder to record quick and easy plus if u hook a camera up to the phono port u can do a live feed webcam
