When I try and shut down my Windows XP Home edition computer, it comes up with an 'end now' box for rundll32.exe.
I have no programs running when I do this.
Can I sort it?

Hi mate,
When I had this problem it was due to the loxoscam backdoor trojan.
I think Symantec have a fix tool fro it.
First off though, try running msconfig (start-->run--> and then type msconfig) and clicking the Startup Tab.
See if a rundll.exe file is kicking about.
Cheers!
rundll is not on the Start Up tab in msconfig
any other suggestions
cheers :nowords:
Hi Mate goto task manager ctrl alt del and go to processes and look for any thing with rundll and end task it if the computer needs it it will regenerate it if not it will stay dead.
then do a virus scan using norton or any other scan if you do a search for stinger on the internet there is a free program that you can download and it will search for a host of trojans and viruses. This program is made by mcalfee. if you do a search for system mechanic 4 and can get hold of it this program is really good and is a complete system protection all in one. it has pop up stopper and adware searcher. it even has a registry fixer for all of the programs that you have installed and deleted but has left you with broken short cuts and registry.
hope this help.
