So... How do they catch you with torrenting?

Hi,
Hope this is not a stoopid question and I hope I'm right in posting this here instead of the Torrents section.

I've been using BT experimental for ages with Peerguardian reporting just the odd attack from "Cy*oor technologies" which appears to be some crap advertising company but as soon as I downloaded and ran Az*reus I got 8180 hits from cop*right-agency.

So how do they actually try and track you? Do they base it on the client you have downloaded or something else?

well in kas you can use TCPview and see all the connections to a download, the same goes for BT

you have to be downloading with the other people

download through a socks server which is like a proxy

so now you want an FAQ

you will need a good socks server checker

If you go to the sites in the proxy sticky you will find socks servers - but they all need checking

Run TCPview at the same time as a BT

or just run netstat from a cmd

Ah Think I finally got this thing working.

Found a list of socks proxies

Seems to work ok with BT.

He He that was gonna be my next question. Anyhow the damn fing stopped working after I posted that.
