    Help file transfer ?

I have a desktop pc and a laptop and i want to transfer files between them.
I have a cross cable connected between them and have ran the network setup wizard.
it allows me to use the printer and internet on each system but i can't work out how to file transfer.???
i have allowed file sharing but when i map network drive it just doesn't find anything....
also one other thing , do i need norton firewall on both systems or just the laptop which is the main connection for internet.
im new to networking and don't really understand what im doing , i managed to use flashfxp when i had a xbox and that worked but i cant get it to work with my 2 pc systems...

you need to share the folder the files are in - if both PC's are on the same network then it work.

Also what OS have you got on them? You need to make sure you are in the same workgroup so that the machines see each other....

:nowords: Hmmm , all sorted now!!!

It seems Norton firewall was causing all the problems......

I have it on both systems and had to disable it before they would find each other.
Can i enter anything into Norton so i haven't got to disable it all the time ??
