107d prob

i think my 107d drives are playing up, when i am burning 1 disk it runs at 8x but when i am burning to both drives at the same time it only burns at 4.6x,and when ever i am burning it makes my computer dog slow. Can any1 recomed good FIRMWARE as i think this is were the problim lies thanks

when you say "burning to both drives at the same time", do you mean on the fly? if so are they one seperate IDE channels, and have you got a fast DVDrom drive?

burning to 2 107ds from a image file useing alcohol 120% the two drives are on the 1 ide cable e master and f slave. Should they be on two diffrend channels i.e on one channel have a hard drive and 107 and have the other hdd and 107 on the other?

thats not a good way to set it up, having both writers on the same cable will make performance suffer. i have each of my devices 6 devices on master!! :tongue

hd 1 - mobo ide1 master
pioneer108 - mobo id2 master
hd2 - sata1
hd3 - ide card ide1 master
2 liteon combo drives both on master on another ide card.

its fast enough that i can copy from 1 liteon drive to pioneer 108 on the fly, beacuse of liteon hacked firmware, and also rip dvd to a hard drive at the same time, no buffer problems at all.

i think u need to look at gettin a seperate pci ide card for the writers but look before you buy beacuse not all are good with atapi devices,

another option is put both ur 107ds on the motherboard , seperate ides, put ur harddrive on a pci ide card, u shud have no problems then! :thumbs

thanks for the replys ,, untill i can get a ide card would it work beter with a hdd & 107 on each channel instead of 2 hdds on 1 and 2 107s on another

You would still have the bottle neck in the 1 IDE cable of two devices. I don't think you are suppose to mix different ide device types on 1 ide channel as they won't work well with each other. The only solution is to get a PCI card. You could always wait until one dvds finished
