    Default PS2 Passcode

A neighbour has a PS2 that keeps asking for a parental control passcode every time she tries to play an 18 rated DVD.

She has no recollection of ever setting one, and the so called default (7444) doesn't work.

Is there a "backdoor" passcode to enable the removal of whatever passcode is obviously there at the moment?

i just set mine to 0000, so wenever i wanted to watch an 18 i just kept on hittin the 'x' button, and it played straight away. Don't know if there is a backdoor code, but wen/if you do reset it, my advice is change it to 0000.
    ;)

I'm sure this has been asked before, if you do a search of the forums you might find the answer, but if not, then call the sony help desk (I can't remember it, but I'm pretty sure it's in the back of PS1/PS2 game manuals) and they should be able to tell you how to get round it.

    Hi

You might be able to reset the station to a virgin state by removing the onboard lithium battery for 30 secs or so. Havent tried it just a thought.

    All the best

    Rant Re: PS2 Passcode

If I recall, you bring up the screen that says 'enter password'. Then press select and it should say 'delete password' then you enter 7444 and press X.
