Default 2000 box with different layout

Got a 2000 box here on which the normal greyish remote does not work.On looking inside at the board the front LED only has one ribbon cable going from it to the main board and not the two like in most cases. What remote will operate this type of box??
    Any ideas guys?

Ok here's the latest.I've swapped the front LED displays around from the dodgy 2000 with another one I have in my bedroom and I now know that it's not the problem.Where could I start to look now??

I haven't to tell you the truth as I don't have one,but I thought the grey ones with the green bottom should be the ones.
I've been told to boot up in libdebug and look to see if the IR is disabled in it,so that's my next port of call.

Been told that there's somewhere in the engineers menu that you can alter the IR settings but i'll be damned if I can see them on ANY of the 17 pages!!
    Anyone shed some light
