The problem is alignment.
Traditionally I would get my analogue system, a viewable TV and adjust/tune Astra and Hotbird on my two 60cm dishes. It was easy just like tuning radio. After finding the signal, I then transfer to digital receiver and tweak to improve signal.
Unfortunately I don't have analogue any more and hence thought it is going to be difficult to tune my dishes, so I bought a sat finder kit. PG 753 (No instructions for use).
Thought it would be easy as one two three. Instead I spent four hours with nothing and gave up.
Please please can you help?
The steps I followed are bellow.
RECEIVER 5400 Humi (of course)
Fixed dish 60cm Astra 19.2 and Fixed dish 60cm 13 Hotbird
1. Loaded latest Channel list Astra and Hotbird PET 123 - (Even tried 45 - 45 channel list)
2. Mounted dish on Vertical scaffold pole.
3. Connected Sat cable to meter and then to LNB
4. Box in standby and switched on.
5. Then spent the rest of time moving dish up down left right trying to get the meter to acknowledge signal. What a nightmare.
Please tell me where I am going wrong the latitude for my area is 53 (what ever that is) I also got a compass with the kit but have no idea how to use.
Overall pretty useless but as an enthusiast I would like to conquer this mission as I know it is easier to pay a nominal fee for some else to install it and take the credit.
Please can some body give me a complete step by step guide on installation using sat finder kit?
Thanks in advance
Grover
