Default HD icon showing as CD?!?

Right then. I really doubt anyone knows the answer to this so prove me wrong!
I have WinXP Pro and have just installed my 2nd SATA Hard Drive. After formatting it with Disk Management within XP, I have noticed that the drive icon in My Computer is showing as a CD drive. This doesn't have an affect on using it. I think that somewhere XP has screwed the icons around.
    Anyone any idea?

    Cheers.

Right click your desktop, goto properties, choose the desktop tab,Customise desktop button (near the bottom) , Restore defaults. Might help, worth a try...

    No luck, unfortunately.
I have even downloaded TweakUI to see if repairing the icons would help but nothing.
I've got no idea how this has happened. When I get a chance I'll change the drive lettering and see if this knocks it into shape.

Ok, I have found the solution to this and will share it on in case anyone else ever comes across it.

With XP SP2, open Regedit and go to the following path -
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DriveIcons\D\DefaultIcon
From here you can change the C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll,* (where * indicates a number).

Here is a list of what the number can be and what icon will be displayed -

    0 - Default Icon
    1 - Default Document
    2 - Application
    3 - Closed Folder
    4 - Open Folder
    5 - 5 1/4 Drive
    6 - 3 1/4 Drive
    7 - Removable Drive
    8 - Hard Drive
    9 - Network Folder
    10 - Network Offline
    11 - CD
    12 - RAM Drive
    13 - Entire Nertwork
    15 - My Computer
    16 - Printer
    17 - Network Neighborhood
    18 - Network Workgroup
19-27 are the Start Menu icons
    19 - Programs
    20 - Desktop
    21 - Settings
    22 - Find
    23 - Help
    24 - Run
    25 - Suspend
    27 - Shutdown
    28 - Share
    29 - Shortcut
    31 - Recycle Bin (Empty)
    32 - Recycle Bin (Full)
    33 - Folder, Dial-Up Networking
    34 - Desktop
    36 - Program Group
    40 - Audio Card

I hope this helps anyone that stumbles across this problem.
Mine was defaulted to 11 for some really odd reason but it is now sorted. :thumbs
