u know when your setting up and it says press F6 to install scsi or raid drivers and u have to put a floppy in, well ive done it before but someone made the disk for me and i cannot remember how to do it.

I cant see nothing on the motherboard disc only a program that installs in windows, so if anyone know please lets know guys, and please be as detailed as possible, pretend your teaching a monkey:|

You asked for it in monkey terms, so here we go

Right, down to the serious stuff:

I have made it really simple for you, just follow the instructions below:

    1. Download the self extracting SATA driver utility I have created for you from >HERE<

    2. Insert a blank floppy disk in your floppy drive

    3. Double click the newly downloaded utility which is called sata.exe

    4. Click on install

Et Voila, you now have the necessary floppy disk that is required to install 2K/XP

i did my 1st SATA install only last weekend on a ASUS A7V6 with onboard SATA and also gigabit lan, nice mobo

me m8 had beed trying for 2 weeks with no joy so i told him to bring it over, tbh i was looking forward to playing with this technology.

the asus website had the drivers after some digging, made the floppy from the exe and whacked in the XP CD and off it went after using the F6 3rd party raid drivers option

I swear a 160GB HD formatted quicker than a 1.44MB Floppy, never seen anything like it in my life :cartman

i think i feel a prob will happen wiv me IDE HD soon as that the only way i'll get this upgrade past the missus :whistle
