as a last resort i think this may be the problem.. without actually seeing it.. because this box has been offline 2+ years so yeah i think it wont set net id cause its dead???

Well m8, that was the prob with the box I bought off you.
NetID set OK in Libby.....read OK in Libby.......but when
checked in Eng Menu after a quick power-down it was back
to 09999. I new battery sorted it out.
Coms error does sound different though....means box is
not talking to Libby. Check it's on Com1 and that the
cable is OK. Try cable on something else like a Phoenix/
Smartmouse. Make sure you have the correct config file
for a 1000 box loaded into Libby.
Try these and let us know how you got on.

Here's the Libby config file suitable for 1000 boxes.
You'll need to edit the netID for your own area.

get a test sim the box sound's like it's pre cr soft so changing net-id in libby won't work.

    or flash the atmel's.

don't ask on here for dump's either.

    HOW TO USE LIBBY

Follow the steps below and all should be ok.

    1. Turn on pc and get the box somewhere near you but NOT plugged in at all.

    2. Open Libdebug (Libby) and load the correct config (cfg) file for your box making sure that the config file is pre programmed with the correct net id for your area.

    3. Plug the lead from your pc into the rs232 socket of the box, this will be a scart lead if your box is a 4000. DO NOT APPLY POWER TO BOX YET.

    4. Now click "Execute command" in the libby window.

    5. Quickly apply power to the cable box. After a few seconds you should see a load of data appear in the bottom right window of Libby.

    6. Look in the top left (white) window of libby and scroll down to NET ID, click the + sign to the left of it and then look for your area.

    7. Double click on your area and some data will appear in the top right window of libby, double click the area again.

    8. At this point you could reset the pin on your box if you do not know it, just double click "clear sram" in the top left window of libby.

    9. Exit Libby and plug in the cable feed e.t.c and go straight to engineers menu to check that NET ID has changed. Whilst there you should enter a new pin if you cleared sram. If the net id is not the one required Just run through the process again as sometimes you need to do it twice.

HOW TO EDIT A LIBBY CONFIG FILE

If you need to edit Libby with the correct NET I.D for your area then here's how to do it.

    1. Download the correct config (cfg) file for your model of box.

    2. Right click on the downloaded file and select "open with" then click notepad.

    3. Scroll down the opened file until you see:

    :Network ID
    Set Network ID
    4061*****
    Set Network ID
    4061*****

    4. The * represent the net id so just delete the last 5 digits and replace them with your own NET I.D.

    5. Click FILE in the top left corner and select "save as"

    6. In the filename box call the file whatever you like but make sure that you add .cfg to the end of the filename so it might look like 2000.cfg
