    Default shut down

hi wonder if anyone can help...

my set-up is a little old now

    kd266 m/b
    amd duron 1000
    256 mb
    60gig hd
    dvd writer
    cd/rw
    300w psu

now all has run fine until recently, i have added no new peripherals or programs
but now at completely random times the pc resets itself.....it may be a couple of seconds after it hasbooted up or it could be hours after boot up. also it seems to not matter what process is taking place..ie writing dvd/cd, using photo software on the net it can happen any time whist i am doing anything!!!! damn annoying!!!!!

    any ideas anyone?!?!?!?!?!

check ur heatsink is seated properly and isnt clogged up with shit. my old pc started rebooting cos the heatsink had moved away from the surface of the chip by a few milimeters.
