Whats the best gig you have been to?


Ive got 2, both at wembley stadium. the were Micheal Jackson in '97 and Oasis in 2000.

Ive always been a fan of jacko and this gig was good as he played mainly his back catalouge and none of his modern stuff, which is crap.

And Wembley was rockin when Oasis were there on the Familiar to Millions world tour, definatley the rowdest gig ive been to!

I've got two faourites.

First was my very first gig, seeing the Foo Fighters at the astoria in london - they are awesome live, and it's a small venue so was right up by the stage for the whole thing

Second was seeing Aerosmith at wembly stadium (don't laugh). 3 Colors Red, Black Crows, Stereophonics, Lenny Kravitz and then Aerosmith. 3 Colors red were shite. the black crows and the stereophonics were surprisingly good - Kravitz was amazing (this was who i actually went to see). Aerosmith were actually incredible live - never been a big fan, just liked the odd song of theirs, but live they were so good once they got going.

I have been to so many it is hard to choose
My first was Oasis at the Reebok stadium I saw both nights for free because I work there.
Oasis in Orlando at the Hard Rock live 2000 people on the last tour
Oases at the Pool lighthouse for the Glastonbury 2004 warm up gig 6 people from the front centre that was mad.
The Coral at Leeds student union

I like the small venues because of the intimacy but I like the stadium gigs for the sheer size and number of people.

Worse gig's embarrassing but I worked at the Reebok Big light on where we had the likes of The sugar babes, liberty-X, James Fox Big Brovaz and loads of other pop idol rejects. We did get Jools Holland who was good. Tony Hadley and Michael Ball enough said. BUT I did get paid a lot to work at them :thumbs

Others I have seen
Coldplay, Stereophonics, Travis, The Bees, The Charlatans, Bon Jovi, Meat Loaf, D12, Red Hot Chilli peppers, Richard Ashcroft and a few more I cant remember.

Best gig Ive seen is definatley Oasis at Knebworth in 96. I was quite near the front of 125,000 people which probably helped! However also Prodidgy who were on just before Oasis...having thousands jumping in time to Breathe was amazing!

Worth a mention: Coldplay, Gomez and Polyphonic Spree

Orbital in Cardiff - Played on a two story platform in the middle of the arena with the audience encircling them, class outfit, class tunes.


Stone Roses in Newport - Oasis? My arse, these were and always will be the guvnors. The gig also had the added benefit of some quite spectacular rioting afterwards as well that was sparked by Ian Brown revealing he was wearing Cardiff City shirt under his outer shirt half way through the song Tears.


Worst - Manic Street Preachers - Considering they were playing in front of their home crowd they really didn't give a fuk. Knobs.

U2 birmingham nec 1993 - i was on the front row so it was just like me and the band

green day manchester apollo - great sound and they smashed the instuments to bits

muse manchester academy - small gig but great live band

Saw blink 182 at wembley and they were shit....

Saw the last ever smashing pumpkins gig at wembley and that was also shit....

think its generally wembley being a crap venue tho... altho chili peppers were good there!

Best gigs would be bush at brixton, offspring at wembley a few years back (there were good in march this year but not as good as before) and they were also good at reading (98 i think it was)

Slipknot at the NEC was superb... one minute silence supported them and they were awesome!

Most amusing would of been tenacious d at brixton!

seen a few others that i also think were brilliant, reef at southampton guildhall and my ruin at highbury garage (really good venue that)

Best gig ive been to has to be red hot chili peppers in cardiff this year.


Went to see REM last year in manchester which was also amaizing.

The best gig i saw for years was 'The Hives' at the octagon in sheffield, pure in your face genious!...what a show!
alice cooper in 88 was cool too, but 'Faith No more' were awesome back in 91, that good i saw them 4 times.

Phuk it,' The Hives' are the best band live...period!

One of the best gigs I've been too was The Wonder Stuff a couple of years ago. It was at a small venue, some student union bar or other, and they just rocked. Seem to have regained their passion for it again, shame there's no new album on the way...

Other than that, Manics were good, Semisonic were bloody good, Pulp were OK and RCHP were rubbish.
