    Default Laser bust....

    Hi guys, due t the extensive clicking of Def Jam NY, my ps2 laser is goosed, can anyone help me find a new one and get it fitted..

    V9 silver ps2..

    I had the exact same problem on the same game, I got mine done in G-Force is glasgow for £50

    are you sure its the laser? you may have the dreaded "v9 syndrome" which causes the LA chip to blow (due to the laser coils being low resistance)

    If the drive sort of spins up but never reads anything then this maybe what you have.

    If it is just the laser, and it's a Sony KHS400C they are pretty readily available. I think neo games have them, or failing that there are several sellers on ebay.

    If its the sanyo R type (has HD7 printed on it) laser then they are more rare.

    My laser packed in the other day too...


    But the the problem i have.. is my machine is JAP!!
    Does anybody have anyclue where I can get a drive for a jap machine?

    do what i did, go and buy a brand new ps2 (which ever colour yours is!)

    have yours in car...

    carefully take off security sticker... unpack, swap ps2's , stick security sticker back on, take back an say your wife bought one an hour ago and just told you... get a refund...

    try cleaning laser......remove the plastic cap off laser then completely soak it in cleaning solution and dry with a hear dryer....usually works:thumbs
