xbox live prob

got a 2nd xbox banned off live. first was a xecuter 2.6 pro

2nd was a aladain live chip. i dont know whats going on. they both worked for a day of using them and 2nd day banned i been carefull to keep the chip turned off when i been using live.

dont know if it was cause was on the ms dashboard setting up slayers when the chip was on or cause starwars tryed to go on live even tho in options i set it to not try to. really narked off.

guess might need a 2nd xbox one for my 120gb and testing games and one for live

i know i can get some epprom but i dont know if its even worth it :@

i too got banned within a week of getting my aladin modchip :grr: im pretty sure i never went online whilst the chip was on too, just going to have to get a new xbox..

There is talk that MS may be banning based on hard drive contents now...

that would mean thy ae reading the contents of your drive, remeber they got in a whole load of sh1te for trying the same when winxp was first released, if they are doing this they are breaking the privacy act, just don't mention to em why you have your box chipped :whistle

is it just people with bigger Harddrives??
maybe some of the newer games are just trying to connect.
were you using a Bios that prevents you from connecting to live??

Heard this from someone else, live looks to see if your drive is below 10gig, if not, banned......

dont know if thats true, when the chip is disabled the MS bios cant even see the F drive (apparently) so how would it know if u had anythin bigger than 10gig.
Id presume live could tell if you were using a stock HD in some way without having to search through your files tho

Dont know-one of the IT blokes said about it last week, he uses live and has been banned with 2.6 switched off within the last 2 weeks

He might be wrong though, I am not sure how he found out, I will ask him next time I see him

Hi,

I've just been reading through this thread and was wondering how you know when youve been banned from xbox live.
The reason i'm asking this is that i've recently moved house and have re set up my xbox after not using it online for a while and cant get it to connect.

It tells me I have to update to a new dash and then tries for a few seconds, then says Xbox live is not responding please try again later. I've tried for about 3 days now. I'm pretty sure the ICS is working as it detects cables are connected and ip is configured.

I was just wondering if i've been banned cause I have a modded xbox (execter) but havent actually had it turned on for about 6 months and I dont have an upgraded hard drive just the original. What screen comes up to tell you youve been banned or does it just do whats happening to mine and stop you connecting.

Any help would be appreciated guys.

you will get an error message on the troubleshooter saying it cant connect cause u have modified hardware or software, if u r banned m8

I've been reading all the threads on XBOX scene and it seems to be the general opinion that M$ are noting the Harddrive IDs on banned XBOXs.
So if you do get banned, or have even been banned you need to change your harddrive as well as your eprom.

i've also heard that you get banned if you've played the french Halo2, but no one i know has been banned yet, so i think that's just scaremongering.

there are just so many roumers flying around, and always have been. i tend to not to beleave any of them untill they happen to me (and none ever have). i find a lot of people connect without realising it. then just balme it on somthing else.
somthing thats cought a couple of my mates out is turning the chip on then off too fast. because the modded bios is saved in to the XBOX's memory. if you turn the chip off then re-boot too fast it can still load up the modded bios, so you get banned even though the chip is off.
i should think that's cought a lot of people out who then would just claim that M$ are scanning their HDD and not realise what's happend..
