    Default Which SCSI Drive?

I am looking at buying a new drive I am getting pissed off with the IBM 36GB drives failing, 3 in 2 months is annoying and IBM wont even do an advanced replacement on the latest.

I have decided to go for a 73GB and it is a case of there are 3 different makers, Seagate, Fujitsu and Maxtor not wanting to go for the 15K drives I am going for a 10K
    the 3 main options are

    Fujitsu MAP 73.5GB U320 5 year warrenty

Maxtor Atlas 10k IV 73.4GB U320 (yeah we know its a quantum) and I killed a 9.1GB years ago 5 year warrenty

    Seagate Cheetah 10K.6 73.4GB U320 2 year warrenty

Anyone got any ideas which I should go for I want a reliable drive the 2 year warrenty on the Seagate puts me off slightly

    The system runs 24/7

    Thanks

I have a pair of 10K Atlas's that are getting on for 4 years old now, my system runs almost 24/7 and they are both still sweet.

The trick with any electrical/electro-mechanical device is that the cooler you can get it to run, the more efficient it will be and the longer it will last.

Thanks Pegasus, I am now the proud owner of a 74GB Maxtor Atlas 10k

It makes some strange noises when the bugger starts up but runs fine and scandisk didnt find any problems.

I know cooling drives especially SCSI ones is important, I have a pair of 8cm fans cooling the drives but they still failed I will try and find another spot and see if I can improve things any more.

    Thanks again

I think I will put my freeby MS mouse I got for the Windows mobile training on now
