Half-Life 2 Out

Looks like some stores are breaking their NDA's and are selling Half-Life 2 earlier than the Official released date of 16th of November! But it still can't be played as it still needs to be unlocked at the moment.

indeed. pretty much useless until net tuesday. nice to see the US packaging though - shame that they have a shed load of CDs though when we get a DVD.

All online stores will give earlier dates so as to including shipping and transportation. Hence why Play always releases 2 days early even though you dont actually get the item until the correct release date or later...

i wonder why it isn't being posted to usenet by now - wouldn't it be nice to just get an activation patch on tuesday and then be able to play it? :-)

Come on US HL2 buyers! Make an image of the disc(s) and put it on usenet!

There's no point - making an image from the retail disc would be exactly the same as making an image from the pre-loaded files from Steam (already on our harddrives).

according to the news page on the steam site, valve wanted to enable the auth servers for steam users and people who had the ati bundle but VU wouldnt let them.

Could be midnight tonight, if theyre going by GMT, but you may need to wait another 5hr or so for east coast USA to hit 00:00

Im betting theres piles of yanks gonna be up at 00:00 UTC/GMT to see if the former is correct.

hmmmmmm... i wonder why these haven't popped up by now.. do you have access to both Centopy's and Money's PRE folders? other than that I can't believe what you wrote....
