    Default Barebone systems.

My computer is far too big, it has too many fans takes up too much space and is noisy as hell so I want to go for a barebone unit. I have had my eye on this for awhile...

What do people think of it? I don't really want to spend too much money but knowing me I will and end up regretting it later.... *_____*

So with the idea in mind that I will connect it up to my tv and have it as a multimedia machine what do you think?

    Thanks in advance,

    Cue

Yeh, looks quite good. I have recently bought a Shuttle and it's great, small, quiet and very powerful. Just be aware that they are not THAT upgradable, e.g. 1xPCI. They do have a good about of USB and stuff tho.

Also, i think you misunderstand the meaning of 'barebone'. This doesn't refer to the size of the unit but it refers to how it comes. A barebone PC comes with the case, motherboard and sometimes a heatsink and fan. You then add the rest to it. It just happens that most barebones are also SFF (small form factor).

    Hope this helps.

    BEWARE.

Ebuyer sometimes ships these system with the psu set to 110v. I blew the power supply for one of the MSI Mega pc's. So when u do get it make sure its set to 240 before you plug in!
