    Hi m8s,
does anyone know how to copy kariokie discs.
I can download them off mirc and they come in a rar file, but dont know how to get them on to disc. Any info would be much appreciated.

    Thanks 2meo.

you will need to unrar it - RAR files are like zip files - data compressed into a single file for easy of downloading or emailing.

    you will need to
    1. download winrar from www.rarsoft.com
    2. unrar the file - you will probally get a disc image from this e.g bin & cue file or .iso file.
    3. burn this image using a good CD burning software - e.g alcohol 120 or Nero etc.
    Using the image burning option.

What the hell is Kariokie ?

first off you need to know in what format you have them in.

open up the rar file to find out.

if they are in a zip then extract the zip to a new folder usualy they are zipped on thier own as individual tracks, if it is a cue and bin and its a full album burn has normal in nero.
if they are seperate bin files burn using cdrwin using the cd+g setting (if your burner supports this)

if they are just mp3 and cdg files then follow has below

first you need the mp3 and cdg files for the same song in a zip file these are per song only! and place in a new folder, continue with the rest of the tracks.

next using mp3+g toolz you need to convert them into bin files. you right click on the folder and pick it in the list, when it has opened select zip to bin.

then using powerkaraoke make a cue file using the tool power cue creator, by adding the tracks to the list.

next use a burning software like alcohol 120% ( i use this and select the cd+g option) load up the cue file has image.

lastly burn at a LOW speed because cd+G players can be very picky.

all the tools you need to convert can be found here http://www.karaokeplayground.co.uk/d.../downloads.htm.

and word of wisdom, low sound and nieghbours dont complain :tongue

    hope that helps

If they were downloaded from irc, then the rar files will be an mp3 file and a cdg file.
these will play in winamp with a cdg plugin installed.
to convert these to burn onto a cd you need mpg toolz. search on google for this.

    Hi bbshark,

Have managed to copy 1 track onto disc. I used mp3 gtoolz as you said. I then without using powerkaraoke (as I can only find a trial version which does not have all the features), I went straight to alcohol 120 and burned the image and it worked ok. The only problem I am having is how to get more than 1 song onto disc. Do I need to add 1 at a time (ie dont close disc after burning) or can I somehow do multiple songs onto disc in 1 session.

    Thanks bb and regards 2meo.

i also only have the trial version and if you install it you wil have a folder in start>program files>powerkaraoke>tools> power cuecreator this is what you need its useable even in the trial. just add the files and then browse to were you want to save the cue file then click write.

then use alcohol 120% to write image and use that cue file.

in fact ive upped it here its free and comes with powerkaraoke and you dont need to register to use it so im sure it would be ok to put on here.

if not can a mod please remove
