    Help HP Power Supply

Does anyone know where I might be able to buy a new Power Supply for my HP Pavilion pc? The one I've got in at the moment is only 200watt, and I need something bigger for my new graphics card, but the ones that I have found in the shops have been too big :grr: !

    My current Power Supply measure:

    100mm x 90mm x 150mm (with a 75mm fan)

    ekkkkkkkkkk.....
please note that MANY of the pc manaufactures (Dell/Compaq/HP) do not use standard parts as per you would get from the local PC shop...

you may well find that parts from inside a HP will not sit comfatable inside a generic case.

I think he has found that already as he cant get a power supply but i do agree with you but if it were me and i think the board in the hp is standard then things should go fine and if not change out the parts that need changing and now you have a pc that is standard and upgradable for the future.I have worked on many hp systems and they are not non standard parts apart from cases psu and sillybits but everything else is fine like boards drives etc. If you post the model i will look at the specs and tell you if it will work in a generic case or not.

    Chauhan -

Had exactly the same problem with a machine that came in for repair about two months ago and all the parts went straight into a standard case just fine. If memory serves me correctly it was a P4 1.6 in a mini tower case with the daft CD holder bit on the top.

    Hop this helps ..... GedR
