Default FIFA's Action on Spanish FA

FIFA have taken a diplomatic approach to dishing out punishment for the deplorable racism against English players. What do people think?

i thnk that if it was an african team or south american team that suffered that sort of abuse, spain would be playing the next few home games behind closed doors or kicked out of WC 2006. but as it was england they dont really give a toss

There`s nothing surprising about this. First of all Sepp Blatter`s favourite team (Real Madrid) escapes with a £7,000 fine, for racial abuse, and now the Spanish national team gets a 'slap on the wrist' for the same crime in the same city.

Earlier this month, Real Madrid were fined just £7,000 by European governing body UEFA in response to the behaviour of their fans during the Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen on 23 November.

And despite FIFA president Sepp Blatter expressing his own anger at the actions of the Spanish fans, FIFA's disciplinary committee went little further than their European counterparts in today's ruling.

Does it not seem strange that although Sepp Blatter (who has massive clout) expresses his anger, yet barely anything is done about it?
What is said out loud and what is done, are two different things.......Now if it was England that had done it, I think we would have been chucked out of the competition.
    Makes you think doesn`t it?

Pathetic decision proving that the game is run by idiots. I personally think that any player has the right to leave the field if subjected to that sort of abuse. Clubs whose fan's behave like this should have points docked, that would make the good fans among us point out the ar5eholes who behave like this.

Definitely! I thought DB should have stepped up and just told the team to walk off the pitch. The Spanish players are the ones who disappointed me! They were perfectly placed to be the bigger men, and walk off the pitch in protest, if they would have done it, both the English and Spanish teams could have shown the world Racism is wrong!!! You would expect a team like Real Madrid to be wanting to stamp out this stupid behaviour! Viera and co, aswell as the other Galacticos Real want to purchase won't be taking too kindly to the stupidity of a minority of the Real fans.
