ive been told that my internet speeds are all over the show because my exchange virtual path status is red, does anyone know what this means, and what i can do to sort it? im on 1mb pipex adsl, but sometimes it slower than dialup!

Other than asking if your ISP can move you to a different VP, there is absolutely nothing you can do.
If all the VP's in your exchange are at maximum capacity, then all you can do is wait for BT to do a VP upgrade.
