Does anyone think that it's a bit weird that after ensuring a ban on fox hunting is being brought in as law the governments official stance is that if the Countryside Alliance get an injunction delaying the law then the government will not oppose this. What is going on? Laws are laws aren't they? If the Countryside alliance manage to prove that the Parliament act is not then any acts that have been pused through the house of lords with the aid of the Parliament act will have to be overruled surely?

Plus another thing, who is going to have the pay for this? I'd put cash on the chances of it being the government (i.e. you and me) who will end up footing the bill for a few years of lawyers fees. If these toffs want to pull court action that they will ultimately lose then they should have to pay for it themselves. Fair enough if the supreme courts rule against the government then I'd say that the Countryside Alliance should get their court fees returned; but I bet that isn't how it happens.
